Bachelorette Party Theme Ideas

Wanna make your bachelorette party go with a bang? You need a theme! But not just any theme, you need something classy and glamorous that your hens will love and will make you stand out from the crowd. And if you need inspiration, check out our bachelorette party theme ideas!

1920s flapper1920s

How about a 1920s theme? It’s cool and glam and you can build the whole party around it. To channel the 1920s look, you will need a flapper dress, or a dress you can style into a flapper dress, a head band and a long bead necklace. It’s a flattering look that will make all your hens feel super-girly. Then you can take a jazz-dance lesson and drink cocktails out of teacups, prohibition-style. You could even finish the evening in style with a trip to see “Chicago” at the theatre if it’s playing anywhere nearby. Just remember to have your jazz hands ready at all times!

Parisian themed bachelorette party

Or how about a sophisticated Parisian themed bachelorette party? There aren’t many things  in wedding planning where I would take inspiration from the movie “Bridesmaids”, but did you see her gorgeous French-themed bridal shower? The colour scheme is already determined for you – reds, white and blues – and you can drink champagne while munching canapés. Belle! Of course, you’d probably want to avoid the fights, and we would never recommend giving out live dogs as party favours.

Cowgirls out on the town

For a more fun theme, you can’t go too far wrong with Cowgirl. It’s an easy look to pull off  if you have the hat, and those who want to take it further can add the checked shirt and a demin mini for a real bit of yee-hah! Then your activities can fit right in too – a trip to a western-style bar, a ride on a bucking bronco, a line dance class…the whole day will be wilder than the west.  Of course, if you wanted it to be extra authentic you could take all the hens out to a ranch somewhere and have a go at being cowgirls for real, with riding and trekking together. You might need a slug of Jack Daniels after you’ve finished that! You can also throw in a BBQ, a barn dance and a cowboy-themed stripper!

Disco DivaDisco divas

Still struggling for themed bachelorette party ideas? How about a 1970s theme? If your bride and her friends love all things glitzy, they’ll jump at the chance to don sequins and platforms for a bit of a “Disco Inferno”. Crazy hair, huge glasses and flares all welcome….the more ridiculous, the better. And you can show off your “Saturday Night Fever” moves at a 70s club, where you’ll hopefully bump into a bunch of bachelors all dressed in white suits. Hey, a girl can dream, right? Even if you don’t find your dream man, the dancing and the smell of the glitter spray is sure to get your bachelorettes all giggling away and having the time of their lives. Maybe even the time of their parents’ lives…!

Basically, bachelorette party theme ideas can come from anywhere – you can be inspired by the past, by different countries, you can even get in touch with your wilder side and have a pirate theme. But one thing’s for sure – the bachelorettes that dress up together, laugh together. And the bachelorettes that laugh together are the ones that will be crowning your bachelorette party the best one they’ve ever been to!

About the author

Hiya. I’m Gaynor – Hen Party planner extraordinaire.

A few years ago my best mate Sally asked me to be her bridesmaid. With that came the responsibility of organising the Hen Do which was an exciting but slightly daunting prospect. I had a reputation as a bit of a party girl so the expectations were high. The challenge was the budget – there wasn’t one! But with a bit of improvisation and a lot of imagination I managed to pull it off.

The success of the night was mainly due to the unique and fun Hen Party Games I’d organised to get everyone interacting and laughing. On this site I’ll share some of the best ones I’ve discovered over the years.

Enjoy x
